11. Alaska
This far Northwestern State in the United States is well-known for its cold weather in the winter months throughout the year. Aside from the cold weather in these months, Alaska is a beautiful fair-weathered place to live. Gardens flourish here and the seafood is fresh and tasty. In addition, retirees can enjoy many benefits as well, such as no income tax, no sales tax, and no taxes on pensions or Social Security. These are all great perks to living in this beautiful state and if you can fathom the colder months in the year (or travel during those cold months), you will definitely have it made in your living situation.
