The location of today’s Church of the Multiplication was known as Tagbha, and is found on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee. Since then, many Christian pilgrims have visited this holy site.
6. Church of the Primacy of St. Peter
This famous Christian holy site is located on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee. It is written that in this particular spot on a large rock in the chapel, Jesus had appeared to his disciples, including Peter, for the third time since his resurrection. Although Peter had denied Jesus three times at his crucifixion, after feeding him and the other disciples fish for breakfast, Jesus reinstated Peter by saying with the words “Feed my sheep” (John 21:15-19).
