7. City of Nazareth
Jesus is known as Jesus of Nazareth, since it is the place where his parents, Joseph and the Virgin Mary were from. Although Jesus was born 90 miles away from the city in Bethlehem, his parents returned to Nazareth, where he was raised.
8. Synagogue Church
Located in the city of Nazareth, the Synagogue Church is run by the present-day Melkite Greek Catholic Church. Tradition dictates that Jesus used to study at the synagogue on which the ruins of the church are built on. Although not much is known about Jesus’ time in Nazareth, known as “the silent years,” this is one of the sites where He was said to preach on one Sabbath.
