2. Weak Nails
Another sign of anemia is having brittle nails that snap extremely easily. The cells that make your nails require oxygen as much as any other cell, but like your hands and feet, they aren’t absolutely necessary to your life and your major internal organs will instead get more of the oxygen in your blood.
Your nails will gradually begin to become softer and may even look as if they are going to snap in the middle. Your nail beds will stop making new cells that are as strong as normal. This can also cause discomfort and pain as the nails snap and the bed beneath it bleeds.
