One common sign among seniors is the loss of height over the years. While it is normal to shrink an inch or two over a decade or so, it is not so normal to shrink five inches in two years. If you notice that your height has dramatically decreased over the years, consider having your bones checked out. A dramatic decrease in your height could mean a significant loss in bone mass in your spine and vertebrae which is an important area in your stature. Regular yearly check-ups at your doctor’s office could be a reminder to check your height. If you notice a shrinking from year-to-year, then this could be an issue.
