2. Temporomandibular Disorder

Temporomandibular Disorder, or TMD as it is commonly known, is a condition where the joints of the jaw are misaligned or degenerate. It is often characterised by a clicking sound when opening and closing the mouth and when chewing. It can result in jaw pain that can become severe over time. In extreme cases it can even result in the inability to open or close the mouth. If you start to experience difficulty in opening or closing your mouth, or hear a clicking sound when chewing, it may be an indication that you have TMD.
