2. Deep Breathing.
Deep breathing techniques can really help out many aspects of your life and pain levels. For something that is fairly easy to do, it can really cause pain signals in your nerves, muscles, and bones to vanish. Deep breathing has been known to reduce the amount of painful signals to the brain, which can help to block painful sensations that you may have. This simulates the function of certain medications and the benefit is you can do it anywhere, anytime, and reduce stress while doing it. Consider sitting in an upright posture, feet flat on the floor, and hands near or on your thighs. Close your eyes, take a slow, deep breath through your nose (inhale over five seconds) and exhale even slower through your mouth (over six-seven seconds at least). Do this for a total of about three minutes and repeat throughout the day as needed.
