This is a tough food group to avoid, but beans are actually something that you should avoid when you actively have diverticulosis. Beans are an excellent source of fiber, which can cause you more discomfort in the intestines. For this reason, try and avoid beans until your symptoms are alleviated. Much of the reason for the issue with beans includes the gassy side effects and when you are actively experiencing pain, discomfort and potentially diarrhea, this is the last thing you want to add to your body. Consider avoiding beans whenever possible until your symptoms have subsided and if you continue to have issues then consider talking with your doctor.
